Dizzy Heights

Looking down from Malham CovePeering over the top of Malham Cove, I could see the walkers on the path, about 100m below. They, and the trees and walls, were casting long shadows in the late sunshine. Frost lingered unmelted in the shade of the dry-stone walls. The distant view contrasted with the icy blue-grey limestone rocks of the foreground which frame the scene. It was a crisp, cold but sunny afternoon, with a cloudless blue sky.  Click for larger image to see more detail.  (Photo from January this year.)
